Sanctus Vocal Quartet

The Sanctus Vocal Quartet was established in Yerevan, Armenia in 2004 by its conductor Radik Melikyan - a graduate of the Yerevan State Komitas Conservatory, with the aim of performing the wide range of a cappella vocal works, including those of the European (Medieval to Contemporary), Armenian, and folk traditions. The Quartet has performed at various concert venues in Yerevan, including the Arno Babadjanian Concert Hall, the concert hall at Slavonic University, the National Opera, and others. They have participated in numerous special concerts, including the 135th Anniversary of Komitas, held in 2004 at the Yerevan National Opera. The Quartet has likewise participated in several music festivals / competitions, including the Harmonie-Festival 2005 in Limburg, Germany, where it won a Silver Medal; the Yerevan Baroque Music Festival (2005) - in a performance featured here at the Classical Archives; as well as festivals in Canada, Switzerland, and elsewhere.
